Well done to our U14 hurlers who qualified for the north final by beating Borris-Ileigh by 1-14 to 0-6 in the semi final played in St Flannan's Park on Wednesday evening.

Borris-Ileigh started with wind advantage and got off to a flying start, and opened up a 0-4 to 0-0 lead in the opening minutes.  But Moneygall's first score helped settle the team, when Neil Maher scored a goal after being set up by Joe Fogarty.  From then until half time Moneygall added six points without reply to lead by five at the break.

Borris-Ileigh had the first point of the second half, but Moneygall soon took control again and added a further eight points after half time   which included many well-taken scores.  It was a very good all-round performance, with the backline's excellent defending restricting Borris-Ileigh to just one more score before the final whistle.

We will now meet either Silvermines or Burgess in the north final.

Team: Mark Fanning; Eamonn Ryan, Daniel O'Meara, Gearoid Larkin; Peter Maher, Timmy Flaherty, Jack Kirwan; Niall Maher (0-2), Paul Costello; Roddy Teehan (0-2), David Jones (0-2), William Jones; Joe Fogarty (0-7, 4 frees), Neil Maher (1-0), Jack Bolger (0-1).
