50 Years Ago: County Junior Football Champions

Fifty years ago this week, on 21st March 1965, Moneygall won the 1964 County Junior Football title, beating South champions Kilsheelan by 1-7 to 1-4 in a replay in Thurles.  The drawn final had been played on the weekend before Christmas and had finished 0-5 to 0-5.

The Moneygall team lined out as follows: Henry Condron; Mick Spike Nolan, Jimmy Boland, John Collison; Bobby Gleeson, John Gleeson, Jimmy Gleeson; Jim Collison (captain), Philip Ryan; Bob Collison (0-2); Jerry Gleeson, Jack Ryan (1-2); Billy McLeish (0-1), Tim Gleeson, Jack Collison (0-2).
Subs: Donal Kennedy, Alfie Kenneally, Paddy Hogan, Tom Nolan.
